2018, 2019, 2020 – Dinosaurs and Disasters

Hosted a booth at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Morrill Hall event known as Dinosaurs and Disasters. We played diatom matching games, looked at diatoms under microscopes, counted “diatom” beads in sand, and sketched diatoms with kids ranging from 3-13 years old.

2018 – Diatom of the Month, Young ISDR blog post

Wrote a blog post about my M.S. research, and soon to be published data on the new species known as Pantocsekiella elgygytgynensis (say that 5 times fast!)

2016 – Science Olympiad Monitor, Bowling Green State University

Students compete in 23 events pertaining to different scientific disciplines. I monitored/supervised the paleontology event. I have so much fun watching students get excited about the earth sciences!

2015, 2016 – STEM in the Park, Bowling Green, Ohio

An event hosted at Bowling Green State University in Ohio where booths are set up from the sciences, technology, engineering, and mathematics. I co-hosted a booth where we showcased fossils to boost excitement about paleontology.

At my various academic institutions, I have guided personal tours for field trip classes, individuals interested in the earth sciences, and kids interested in paleontology.
